Harry and Beatrice Hemsworth - Sheffield

HARRY married BEATRICE NOCKALLS in the March quarter of 1908 (GRO reference Ecclesall Bierlow Volume 9C Page 468). Beatrice was 25 at the time of her marriage and was employed  as a Dressmaker (1901 Census). She was the daughter of MARTIN (1856 - ) and FANNY NOCKALLS nee ROBINSON (1859 - ). Her mother Fanny was from Sheffield but her father Martin was from Norwich, Norfolk.   HARRY and BEATRICE had three children. From the information I have I believed that Harry and Beatrice lived at one time at 146 Myrtle Road, Heeley, Sheffield. This was confirmed when I found the school record for their children

He married a SYBIL BILLINGS and had two daughters Sybil and Ann. The daughter Sybil was the bridesmaid at my mother's wedding in 1951. SYBIL on December 5th 1980 and was cremated five days later on 10th December 1980 at Hutcliffe Wood Crematorium. She was 71 years old and at the time of her death was living at 67 Holmhirst Road, Woodseats, Sheffield. Her husband HARRY died in 1982 age 73

"PON" married BETTY (nee SIMMS) and had four sons Brian, Stewart, Michael and Roy. RONALD died in 1985 aged 68. He was cremated and his ashes scattered in Lincolnshire where he and his family had many happy holidays. His wife BETTY died fifteen years later on 17th October 2000 in Great Longstone, Derbyshire, England. She is buried in the churchyard of St Giles Church in Great Longstone,

There is an excellent photograph that was taken on Wednesday 31st August 1921 in Blackpool. The man behind the bar is my grandad Sid. The man holding the glass with the unfeasibly large cap is his older brother HARRY.

Two years later there is a photograph of HARRY BEATRICE and their children that was taken at my grandparents wedding

HARRY and BEATRICE are buried together in Sheffield's Abbey Lane Cemetery

HEMSWORTH, Harry (Retired, age 67). Died at 146 Myrtle Road; Buried on December 20, 1948 in Unconsecrated ground; Grave Number 9784, Section P of Abbey Lane Cemetery, Sheffield.
