It looks as though Lily's husband took his father's name as the eldest son. His parents WILLIAM and ANN LANGLER (nee EVERARD) were married in the March quarter of 1879 in the Kensington District (source BMD Index - 1a -124)
Created 1st July 1837.
In Middlesex until 1889.

Incidentally his mother's full maiden name was ANN SUSANNA EVERARD. Unfortunately it appears that the marriage was short-lived for the same source reveals that in the June quarter of 1883 a WILLIAM LANGLER died at the age of 37 in the Uxbridge District (source BMD Index - 3a - 31 - Created 1st July 1837.Sub-districts : Hayes; Hillingdon; Uxbridge. Cowley, Harefield, Hayes, Hillingdon, Ickenham, Northolt, Norwood, Ruislip, Uxbridge, West Drayton, Yiewsley. - Registers now in Hillingdon and Ealing districts.
These details have been confirmed by the fact that in the December 1885 quarter of 1885 a ANN SUSANNAH LANGLER married a OLIVER JOHN WILLIAMS in the Pancras district of London. (GRO ref Volume 1b Page 102) This of course means that WILLIAM was less than one year old when his father died.
